Bakery-Style Chocolate Chip Cookies
These are the thick chocolate chip cookies you find in a bakery case, the kind with golden edges and soft middles. A mix of white and brown sugar, two eggs, real vanilla and two whole cups of chocolate chips.
I like how quick the dough is, and each tray bakes in 12-14 minutes.
Do not overmix
Once the flour goes in, stop as soon as you no longer see dry streaks. Overmixing develops gluten and gives you a tougher, flatter cookie. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
Knowing when they are done
Pull them when the edges are golden and the centers are just set. They firm up as they cool on the pan. Chilling the dough first also helps them keep their shape. More cookies, bars and easy bakes fill my easy dessert recipes.
