Ingredients
- 3 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add the sliced apples to the dry ingredients and toss to coat completely.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently stir until just combined.
- Spread the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
