- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon mint extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and mint extracts.
- Gradually blend in the flour, baking soda, and salt. If desired, mix in a few drops of green food coloring for a minty hue.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
