Homemade Peach Cobbler Recipe

- 5 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1 cup of granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir well to combine and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, remaining 1 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Add the vanilla extract and milk to the flour mixture and stir until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
- Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
