Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  4. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, vinegar, brown sugar, and ketchup. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce, stirring constantly until thickened.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat them evenly.
  7. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes to blend the flavors.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

  1. I made these sweet and sour meatballs for dinner last night, and they turned out really well—the sauce had the perfect balance of tangy and sweet, and the meatballs stayed tender without falling apart. My kids usually pick around sauces, but they actually asked for seconds this time. I’ll definitely keep this recipe in rotation for busy weeknights.
