Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen blackberries instead of fresh?

Absolutely! Frozen blackberries work just as well in this recipe. Just be sure to thaw and drain them well to avoid excess moisture, which can make the pastry soggy.

Can I make these turnovers ahead of time?

Yes! You can assemble the turnovers a day in advance and refrigerate them until ready to bake. Alternatively, bake them ahead and reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore their crispiness.

What’s the best way to store leftovers?

Store any leftover turnovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, keep them in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to a month.

Can I use a different fruit filling?

Of course! This recipe is versatile—try it with blueberries, raspberries, or even a mix of your favorite berries. Just adjust the sugar to taste depending on the sweetness of the fruit.
