- Method: Dessert
- Cuisine: American
Ingredients
- 1 cup (8 ounces) chopped mango (fresh or frozen and defrosted)
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 3/4 cup heavy cream (very cold)
Instructions
- In a high-speed blender, combine the mango, orange juice, lime juice, and sweetened condensed milk. Puree until very smooth, about 1 minute.
- In a medium-sized bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer on high until soft peaks form.
- Pour one quarter of the mango puree into the whipped cream and gently fold together with a spatula. Gradually add the remaining puree, folding gently to avoid deflating the cream. Spoon into serving dishes and chill for at least 4 hours.
Notes
Use ripe, sweet mangoes for the best flavor. If using frozen mango, defrost at room temperature for 30 minutes before blending. Garnish with fresh mango slices or mint leaves for an elegant touch. This mousse holds well in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use frozen mango for this mango dessert?
Yes, frozen mango works perfectly. Thaw and drain it well to avoid excess liquid, which can make your dessert soggy. Using frozen mango ensures you can make this delicious treat year-round.
How far in advance can I prepare this mango dessert?
You can assemble this mango dessert up to one day ahead. For the best texture, add any crunchy toppings just before serving. This makes it an excellent make-ahead option for parties.
What can I substitute if I don’t have fresh cream?
For a lighter version, use full-fat Greek yogurt or coconut cream. These substitutes will slightly alter the richness but still yield a fantastic mango dessert. Avoid low-fat options as they may not set properly.
