These Meat Lovers Pepperoni Pizza Tacos combine Italian sausage, mini pepperoni, and pizza sauce in a taco shell, topped with mozzarella cheese and fresh basil for a fun and tasty twist on pizza.

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 3 oz mini pepperoni
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper
  • 810 corn or flour tortillas
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the Italian sausage, breaking it up as it cooks, until browned through.
  2. Add the mini pepperoni to the skillet and cook for a few more minutes until the pepperoni starts to crisp at the edges.
  3. Stir in the pizza sauce and crushed red pepper, cooking for a few minutes until heated through.
  4. Heat the tortillas if desired.
  5. Assemble the tacos by placing some of the meat mixture down the center of each tortilla, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese and fresh basil if using.

Notes

Use bulk Italian sausage for ease but links without casing also work. Mini pepperoni crisps nicely and adds texture. Fresh basil is optional but adds a fresh flavor. Heating tortillas enhances softness and pliability for tacos.
