Iced Apple Green Tea
- 2 cups Water
- 2 green tea bags or 2 tsp loose-leaf green tea
- 1 apple, any sweet variety, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp honey (optional, adjust based on sweetness preference)
- Ice cubes
- 1/2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and grated (optional) (optional)
- Fresh mint or basil leaves for garnish (optional) (optional)
- Prepare the Tea: Bring water to a near boil in a kettle or pot. Add the green tea, apple slices, and grated ginger, if using. After steeping for about 2 minutes, remove the green tea bags or strain the tea if using loose leaf green tea.
- Sweeten and Cool Down: While the tea is still warm, stir in honey to taste. Then let the tea cool down while the apple slices are still in the pot to let the flavor infuse properly. Once the tea has reached room temperature, refrigerate it (or put it in the freezer) until it’s chilled.
- Pour into Glasses: Fill glasses or glass jars with ice cubes, and pour the chilled apple-infused green tea over the ice.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with a slice of apple and fresh basil or mint leaves for a refreshing aroma and a touch of color!
