Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole

A classic green bean casserole made easy in the slow cooker, combining green beans, cream of chicken soup, milk, cheese, and crispy fried onions for a creamy, flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the green beans, cream of chicken soup, milk, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Stir the mixture until well combined.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the green beans are tender.
  4. About 10 minutes before serving, sprinkle the remaining French fried onions on top.
  5. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes to allow the onions to crisp up.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use fresh or frozen green beans if available. Adding the fried onions at the end keeps them crispy. This dish can be prepared ahead and kept warm in the slow cooker until serving.
