Cottage Cheese Creamsicle Protein Shake (High-Protein Summer Drink)

A thick, creamy orange-vanilla protein shake made with cottage cheese and frozen orange juice concentrate for real creamsicle flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup full-fat or 2% cottage cheese (frozen in cubes overnight for extra thickness, optional)
  • 1/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, still icy
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy or unsweetened oat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 34 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Add the cottage cheese, frozen orange juice concentrate, milk, vanilla, sweetener, and salt to a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend on low for 15 seconds to break everything up, then increase to high speed and blend for a full 60-90 seconds, until completely smooth with zero visible curds.
  3. Add the ice cubes and blend for another 20-30 seconds until thick and frosty.
  4. Taste and adjust: more salt for balance, more concentrate for stronger orange punch, or a splash of milk if it’s too thick to sip.
  5. Pour into a tall glass and drink immediately for the best creamsicle-like texture.

Notes

Use a high-speed blender if you have one — it cuts blend time nearly in half. Don’t skip the salt; it’s what makes this taste like a creamsicle instead of sweetened cheese. Leftover shake separates slightly in the fridge, so re-blend for 10 seconds before drinking rather than shaking it by hand.
