A flavorful and juicy turkey meatloaf topped with a sweet-tangy glaze, perfect for a family dinner and kid-friendly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper, and the cooked onion and garlic. Mix until just combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape into a loaf on a baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the meat mixture to keep the meatloaf tender. Letting it rest before slicing helps retain juices. You can add finely chopped vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra nutrition.
