Description

Classic buttery thumbprint cookies filled with your favorite jam.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup jam (any flavor)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and salt until dough comes together.
  4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  5. Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of jam.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes
