  • Author: Dorothy Miler

Description

Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of sweetness and chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
