Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

A light and creamy dessert with strawberries and cream cheese filling topped with a golden buttery cake mix crust. This no-fuss dump cake is a crowd-pleasing treat made in one pan.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (15.75-ounce) cans of strawberry pie filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 box cake mix (white, yellow, vanilla, or strawberry)
  • 1/2 cup butter, cold

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread both cans of strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of a 9×13 inch glass baking dish.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, egg, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer.
  4. Scoop dollops of the cream cheese mixture across the surface of the strawberry filling, spreading evenly as possible.
  5. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the strawberry and cream cheese layers.
  6. Slice very thin pats of butter and spread over the entire top of the dry cake mix, covering as much as possible.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is browned and the strawberry filling is bubbling up from the bottom.
  8. Serve warm or cooled, optionally garnished with fresh strawberry slices, whipped cream, and/or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

If using homemade strawberry pie filling, cook it down to ensure it is thick. Cold butter works best for creating a crumbly topping. This is a flexible recipe that works with various cake mix flavors.
