Description

A rich and flavorful rice dish made with a whole stick of butter for maximum creaminess.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) beef consomme
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a 9×9 inch baking dish, combine rice, beef consomme, French onion soup, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  3. Cut butter into slices and place evenly on top of the rice mixture.
  4. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until rice is tender and top is golden brown.
  6. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
