  • Author: Dorothy Miler
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Description

Tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich, savory gravy with caramelized onions and mushrooms.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms. Cook until softened and browned, about 8 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to coat. Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
