Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 812 corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • ½ red onion, diced
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • For the garlic-lime crema sauce:
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the garlic-lime crema sauce by whisking together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt. Set aside to let flavors meld.
  2. Prepare toppings: slice red cabbage and lime wedges, dice avocado and red onion, chop cilantro.
  3. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. In a bowl, combine chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss shrimp with 1 tablespoon olive oil and the seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Heat remaining olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Remove from heat and keep warm.
  5. Toast tortillas on a dry skillet or griddle until warm and slightly charred.
  6. Assemble tacos by placing shrimp on tortillas, topping with red cabbage, avocado, red onion, cilantro, and a drizzle of garlic-lime crema sauce. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

For best flavor, serve shrimp tacos immediately with fresh toppings and crema sauce. Toasting tortillas enhances texture and taste. You can customize toppings to your preference.
