Shrimp and Crab Alfredo | Creamy Seafood Pasta Recipe

A rich and creamy seafood pasta featuring succulent shrimp and sweet lump crab meat in a homemade Alfredo sauce with garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fettuccine noodles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14 oz) can low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream (not whipping cream)
  • 8 oz uncooked fettuccine pasta noodles
  • 3 oz freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flat leaf parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté shrimp seasoned with ½ teaspoon kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper until pink, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  4. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  5. Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and uncooked pasta to the pan and stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to simmer. Cook until pasta is tender and most liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add shrimp and lump crab meat back to the pan and stir to combine and heat through.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in freshly shredded Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is creamy.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with chopped flat leaf parsley before serving.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture. Do not substitute whipping cream for heavy cream to ensure a rich, thick sauce. This recipe can be served with roasted vegetables or crusty garlic bread.
