Description

This Scarecrow Crunch Snack Mix is the perfect Halloween treat! It’s easy to make and full of delicious fall flavors.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups popped popcorn
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal squares
  • 2 cups small pretzel twists
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fall-colored M&M's
  • 1/2 cup peanuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the popcorn, cereal, pretzels, and candy corn. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the baking soda and vanilla. The mixture will foam.
  5. Pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely. Break into pieces and stir in the M&M's and peanuts.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
