For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 oval patties.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onion and mushrooms. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth, ketchup, and mustard. Bring to a simmer.
- Return patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through and gravy has thickened.
