Description

Light and airy pastry puffs that are perfect for breakfast or tea time.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add flour, salt, and sugar all at once. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  5. Spoon the dough into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Do not open the oven door during baking.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
