For the Crust:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1/2 cup crushed chocolate mint candies
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare chocolate cake batter according to package instructions using water, oil, and eggs. Pour into two greased 9-inch round pans.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and peppermint extract until smooth. Spread evenly over one cake layer in pan.
- Bake both cake layers for 25-30 minutes until set. Let cool completely.
- Assemble cake by placing plain chocolate layer on plate, topping with cheesecake layer. Drizzle with chocolate fudge sauce.
- Frost sides with whipped cream and sprinkle crushed candies on top. Chill for 2 hours before serving.
