Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons whole grain mustard
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down if applicable.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the whole grain mustard and maple syrup until well combined.
  5. Brush the maple mustard glaze generously over the top of each salmon fillet.
  6. Season the salmon with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end to caramelize the glaze slightly, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

This recipe is very forgiving and perfect for beginners. The maple syrup caramelizes nicely, giving the salmon a sweet and slightly smoky flavor. Serve with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
