- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 cup peeled and diced apple (about 1 medium apple)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease well.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla and whisk until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apple.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
