Description

These apple blondies are a delicious and easy fall dessert. They’re made with fresh apples, warm spices, and a brown sugar base for a chewy and flavorful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup peeled and diced apple (about 1 medium apple)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease well.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and whisk until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apple.
  7. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use a firm baking apple like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Ensure the blondies are completely cool before slicing for clean cuts. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
