For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are crackly and the edges are set.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
