Lemon Sweet Rolls

Description

Soft, fluffy sweet rolls filled with zesty lemon and topped with a tangy lemon glaze.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup lemon curd
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar; let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in sugar, butter, egg, then gradually add flour and salt to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread lemon curd and sprinkle lemon zest evenly.
  5. Roll tightly from the long edge, slice into 12 rolls, and place in a greased pan. Let rise 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden. Cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
