Italian Pesto Sliders

Juicy beef sliders infused with parmesan, topped with fresh basil pesto and melted mozzarella cheese, served on soft slider buns for a flavorful Italian-inspired appetizer or meal.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slider buns
  • 1/2 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese, halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.
  3. Form the mixture into 8 small patties, slightly larger than the slider buns.
  4. Brush the grill or skillet with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach desired doneness.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a half slice of mozzarella cheese and cover to melt.
  7. Toast the slider buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  8. Spread a generous amount of basil pesto on the bottom half of each bun.
  9. Place the cooked patties with melted cheese on the pesto-spread buns, then top with the other half of the buns.
  10. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh basil pesto and high-quality mozzarella. These sliders can be prepared ahead by making patties in advance and refrigerating until ready to cook. Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
