Hot Sausage Beer Cheese Dip

A creamy, savory dip combining hot breakfast sausage, sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and beer. Baked until bubbly and topped with green onions, perfect for serving with chips, bread, or vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 16 oz roll hot breakfast sausage
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 cup beer (local IPA or preferred variety)
  • 2 8 oz packages low fat cream cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup diced green onion
  • chips, bread, or vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and no longer pink, breaking it up into crumbles.
  3. Place 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, and beer in a food processor or blender. Process until smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour the cheese mixture into a large bowl, then stir in the cooked sausage and the remaining 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until fully combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle with diced green onion, and serve warm with chips, bread, or vegetables.

Notes

Use a local IPA or your favorite beer for the best flavor. For a milder dip, substitute mild sausage. Green onions add a fresh color contrast and mild onion flavor. Enjoy with tortilla chips, soft pretzels, or vegetables.
