For the Crust:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries with 1/4 cup of sugar until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream and strawberry puree until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
  5. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
