Crispy Golden Potato Balls (Golden Crunch Potato Balls)

Delicious, golden-fried potato balls with a cheesy center and crispy, seasoned coating. Perfect as a snack or street food favorite.

  • 3 medium potatoes (500g)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (70g)
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch (70g)
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 150g mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (60ml)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30g)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch (30g)
  • Breadcrumbs, as needed
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Boil, peel, and mash the potatoes. Mix with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup cornstarch with the mashed potatoes to form a dough. Divide into portions and stuff each with a cube of mozzarella, shaping into balls.
  3. Prepare the egg batter by whisking eggs with milk, 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Dip each potato ball in the egg batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan. Fry the balls until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double-coat the potato balls in egg batter and breadcrumbs. Use fresh parsley for a brighter flavor if available. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
