Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 2 lbs of chicken (tenders, thighs, or breast work well)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:
- 1 stick butter
- 8–10 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (adjust based on your preference)
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
Chicken Seasonings:
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Instructions
Prep and Skewer Chicken:
- Soak your wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning during cooking.
- Mix the seasonings (paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper) in a small bowl.
- Cut the chicken into 3-inch pieces, then toss them in olive oil and the prepared seasoning mix.
- Thread the chicken onto the soaked skewers, packing them tightly with no space in between.
Making the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:
- Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat, then add the minced garlic.
- Once the garlic is fragrant and the butter has partially melted, add the red pepper flakes, hot sauce, and parsley, whisking to combine.
- Stir in the grated parmesan until the sauce is smooth and fully combined.
Cooking the Chicken:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook the skewers for 5 minutes, then flip them.
- Baste the skewers with the garlic parmesan butter sauce, then cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Flip and baste again, and finish cooking until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit, which should take about 5-6 more minutes.
Serving Suggestions
Serve these flavorful skewers hot off the air fryer, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and extra parmesan if desired. They pair beautifully with a side of light salad, some roasted vegetables, or even over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes for a more filling meal.
