Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Creamy mashed potatoes infused with roasted garlic for a rich, flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place potatoes and garlic cloves in a large pot and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  3. Drain potatoes and garlic and return to pot.
  4. Add butter and mash potatoes and garlic together until smooth.
  5. Stir in milk and sour cream until creamy.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, roast the garlic cloves before mashing. Use warm milk and butter to keep the potatoes creamy and smooth.
