Parmesan Garlic Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna

A creative fusion dish combining the flavors of a classic bacon cheeseburger with traditional lasagna. Features layers of seasoned ground beef and bacon mixed with creamy cheese sauce, lasagna noodles, and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup additional Parmesan cheese for topping
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove with slotted spoon and set aside on paper towel-lined plate, leaving about 1 tablespoon bacon fat in pan.
  2. Add ground beef and diced onion to skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until beef is browned and onions are softened. Drain excess fat and stir in cooked bacon. Set aside.
  3. Make Parmesan garlic sauce by melting butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux, then gradually add milk while whisking constantly until smooth.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika into the sauce until cheese melts and sauce is creamy.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  6. Spread a thin layer of Parmesan garlic sauce on the bottom of baking dish. Layer 3 cooked lasagna noodles overlapping to fit.
  7. Spread half of the meat and bacon mixture over noodles, then spread a layer of Parmesan garlic sauce over meat.
  8. Sprinkle layer of mozzarella and ricotta cheese mixture over sauce.
  9. Repeat layers: noodles, remaining meat mixture, sauce, and cheese.
  10. Top final layer with remaining 3 noodles, remaining sauce, shredded mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese for topping.
  11. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  12. Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions.

Notes

This recipe combines the savory flavors of a bacon cheeseburger with traditional lasagna for a unique fusion dish. The roux-based Parmesan garlic sauce provides a creamy base that sets this apart from traditional marinara-based lasagnas. For added creaminess, ricotta cheese can be mixed into the meat layer.
