For the Crust:
- 1 jar dill pickle slices (16 oz), drained and patted dry
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each pickle slice into the flour mixture, then into buttermilk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry pickles in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, hot sauce, and lemon juice to make the dipping sauce.
- Serve fried pickles hot with the dipping sauce.
