Description

A simple and flavorful fried cabbage dish that makes a great side or main course.

For the Crust:

  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  2. Add butter to the bacon drippings, then sauté onion and garlic until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add chopped cabbage, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir well to coat the cabbage in the seasonings.
  4. Cook, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Stir in the cooked bacon before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
