Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg until well combined.
Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until smooth.
Stir in heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.
Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer for another 5 minutes to heat through. Serve warm.
