The Easiest Homemade Hot Fudge

A simple and quick homemade hot fudge sauce made with just a few common ingredients. Rich, smooth, and perfect for drizzling over ice cream or desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter in a heavy bottom saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate and butter are fully melted and the mixture is smooth and thick.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.
  3. Pour the hot fudge into an airtight jar or container and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.

Notes

Use any good-quality semisweet chocolate chips for best flavor. The fudge thickens as it cools, so reheat gently before serving if needed. This fudge is versatile and great on ice cream, brownies, or even stirred into coffee.
