Desi Red Sauce Pasta Recipe

  • 2 Cups Penne Pasta
  • 5 Tomatoes
  • 1012 Garlic Pods
  • 1 Tsp Chili Flakes
  • 1/2 Tsp Oregano or Mixed Herbs
  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 Tsp Pepper Powder
  • Cheese (Optional)
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Chop the onion and mince the garlic. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion until it is translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  4. Chop the tomatoes and add them to the pan. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mashed.
  5. Add chili flakes, oregano or mixed herbs, pepper powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add some water if needed to achieve a saucy consistency.
  7. Combine the cooked pasta with the tomato sauce and toss well.
  8. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top and serve hot.

This recipe adapts Italian flavors to Indian taste preferences, using local ingredients like chili flakes for added spice. You can adjust the spice level according to your preference, and add cheese for extra creaminess.
