Crispy Shrimp Salad Wonton Cones

Zesty crispy shrimp salad served in crunchy fried wonton cones, perfect as an appetizer with a delightful texture contrast and creamy filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional for spice)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Chopped chives or green onion for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Shape each wonton wrapper into a cone by folding it in half diagonally, overlapping the two points and pressing firmly to seal.
  3. Carefully lower wonton cones into hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove cones and drain on paper towels, standing upright between glasses or cups to maintain shape while cooling.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped shrimp, mayonnaise, sriracha (if using), sesame oil, rice vinegar, and finely chopped green onion.
  6. Season the shrimp mixture with salt and pepper to taste and stir gently until well incorporated.
  7. Fill each cooled wonton cone with the shrimp salad mixture and garnish with chopped chives or green onion.

Notes

Use tongs to handle wonton cones for better control during frying. You can omit sriracha if you prefer a milder flavor. Stand fried wonton cones upright between glasses to keep their shape while cooling.
