Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries You Will Love

Sweet and crunchy apple fries made quickly in the air fryer with a double coating of cinnamon sugar and flour mixture, perfect as a snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large apples, peeled and cut into ½ inch wedges
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
  • 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • Olive oil nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples and cut each into ½ inch wedges.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, apple pie spice, and 4 tablespoons of cinnamon.
  3. Transfer the flour mixture to a container with a lid, add apple wedges, cover, and shake vigorously to coat all sides.
  4. Remove apple wedges with a slotted spoon, shaking off excess flour mixture, and set aside.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and vanilla extract.
  6. Dredge apple wedges in the egg mixture.
  7. Return wedges to the flour mixture container and shake again to create a second coating.
  8. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and remaining 1 tablespoon cinnamon; set aside.
  9. Spray air fryer basket with olive oil spray and place coated apple wedges in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
  10. Spray the top of the apples with olive oil spray and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over them.
  11. Cook at 350°F for 6 minutes.
  12. Flip the apples, spray again with olive oil spray, sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar, and cook for another 6 minutes.
  13. Serve warm with caramel sauce or powdered sugar glaze if desired.

Notes

For best results, use firm apples and do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. The double coating technique creates a crunchy exterior while keeping the apples tender inside. Serve immediately for optimal texture.
