For the Crust:

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Stir in the dried oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute to blend the flavors.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the grated parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated with the sauce.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with extra parmesan if desired.
