For the Crust:
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Stir in the dried oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute to blend the flavors.
- Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the grated parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra parmesan if desired.
