Cranberry Jalapeño Relish

A vibrant, sweet and spicy relish combining fresh cranberries, jalapeños, lime, and cilantro, perfect as a chilled side dish for meat or poultry.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cranberries, whole fresh or frozen
  • 1 lime, cut with peel into small chunks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place cranberries in a food processor and process until coarsely chopped; transfer to a mixing bowl.
  2. Cut lime with peel into small chunks and add to cranberries.
  3. Add sugar and minced jalapeños to the cranberry mixture and mix well.
  4. Stir in chopped fresh cilantro.
  5. Refrigerate the relish for 2 or more hours to allow flavors to blend.
  6. Serve chilled as a side dish to meat or poultry.

Notes

For best flavor, allow the relish to chill and blend for at least 2 hours before serving. Adjust jalapeño quantity to control spiciness. This relish pairs well with turkey, chicken, or pork dishes.
