Description

A hearty and flavorful dish of beans cooked with ground beef, bacon, and a sweet and tangy sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  4. Stir in the pinto beans, kidney beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in the cooked bacon before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
