For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (15 oz each) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the pinto beans, kidney beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the cooked bacon before serving.
