  • 1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray an 8×8 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Mash bananas in a medium bowl.
  4. Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, applesauce, water, and vinegar until thoroughly combined.
  5. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt just until combined.
  6. Fold in 1/3 cup of the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 33-37 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  10. Let cool, slice, and serve.
