For the Crust:
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
2 large onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or large pan over high heat. Add the onions and stir-fry until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Add remaining oil to the pan. Stir-fry the marinated beef for 2-3 minutes until browned but still slightly pink.
Return the onions to the pan. Mix cornstarch with water and pour into the pan, stirring until the sauce thickens.
