For the Crust:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into 4 equal squares. Spread the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square, leaving a border around the edges.
  4. Top each square with a spoonful of cherry pie filling. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling, pinching the corners to seal.
  5. Brush the edges with beaten egg for a golden finish. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden.
  6. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
