Buttery Biscuits

  • Author: Dorothy Miler

Description

Flaky, tender, and rich homemade biscuits with a golden-brown crust and soft interior.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup cold whole milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in milk just until dough comes together. Turn onto a floured surface, knead gently 2-3 times, then pat into a 1-inch thick round. Cut into biscuits with a 2.5-inch cutter.
  4. Place biscuits on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
