Classic Butter Cookies

Delicate, buttery cookies that melt in your mouth with a simple yet irresistible flavor.


Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, or pipe using a star tip for decorative shapes.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
