  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 burger buns, toasted
  • 4 slices of pepper jack cheese (optional, for extra heat)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions
  • Pickled jalapeños (optional, for extra spice)

Instructions

  1. Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes per side, flipping once, until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  2. Stovetop: Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of oil. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
